Lauderdale By The Sea (LBTS) is a small city located on the East side of the Intracoastal Waterway and just to the North of where Fort Lauderdale ends. LBTS is so small that it is easy to forget that it is it's own city with a City Hall and Fire Department. In the last few years LBTS incorporated a small section of Pompano Beach including the neighborhoods of Bel Air and Terramar.
At it's core Lauderdale By The Sea is a quaint beach town complete with a pier and small downtown of restaurants, bars, and shops. Building restrictions limit all construction and expansion to no more than four stories as LBTS is intent on maintaining it's small town charm.
Real estate ranges from small ranch homes to newer construction homes on at the water, to "mom and pop" motels and owner occupied duplexes, to newer townhomes and the new large scale condo project (under 4 stories!).
